4 Beautiful Places in NSW to Give You Serious Wanderlust

Ready for some wanderlust feels?

New South Wales is a state in Southeastern Australia filled with stunning coast line and lush national parks.

Everywhere I turned in NSW I saw another gorgeous site. I couldn’t get away from incredible views (not that I wanted to!)

So, if you want some inspo to plan your Australian getaway, check out these beautiful places in NSW. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself searching Google Flights before you reach the end of this post.

Bondi to Coogee Costal Walk

As I followed this coastal walk all I could think was, “people live here & see this view every day.”

The Bondi to Coogee walk stretches for 6 km past stunning beaches and rocky overlooks. If you look out into the ocean you might spot surfers or dolphins.

This is a popular running route for locals and a must-see attraction for tourists. It takes about 2 hours to leisurely complete this walk through Sydney’s coastal suburbs.

Sydney Harbor

Speaking of Sydney, how could you ignore the view of the Sydney Harbor?

The Opera House, Sydney Harbor Bridge, and Royal Botanic Gardens offer such an iconic view. You can experience the harbor from so many vantage points. Walk across the Sydney Harbor Bridge for an aerial view, take the ferry to Manly for the view pictured above, or venture to the steps of the Opera House for a different experience.

Once I saw the Sydney Harbor, I knew I was actually in Australia. Blame Finding Nemo, but it wasn’t until I saw the Opera House that it finally felt like I was Down Under!

Megalong Valley Wineries

Sure, Hunter and Yarra Valley get most of the attention, but there are also some great wineries in the Megalong Valley. Located just a few hours outside Sydney, you can find Megalong Creek Estate and Dryridge Estate.

This valley is surrounded by the Blue Mountains, offering picturesque views at the wineries. You can spend some time tasting or soaking in the relaxed vibes at these vineyards.

The Megalong Valley feels like a hidden gem in NSW. These vineyards are less crowded than the ones I visited in the Yarra Valley. The staff are very welcoming and happy to let you sample their wines.

Blue Mountains National Park

While visiting the Megalong Valley, don’t miss the chance to explore the Blue Mountains National Park.

This large protected area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can hike to waterfalls, enjoy views of the famous Three Sisters rock formation, or look for wildlife. During my visit I saw countless wild kangaroos.

The Blue Mountains are only a few hours outside Sydney and offer a refreshing escape from the city. I recommend browsing day trips in Airbnb Experiences if you want a unique guided experience through the beautiful landscape.
